Anthony Joshua Released from Hospital in Nigeria Following Fatal Car Crash
The British boxer Anthony Joshua has been discharged from hospital, officials in Lagos confirmed on late Wednesday. The 36-year-old was caught in a vehicular crash outside Lagos on the 29th of December, a devastating event that claimed the lives of two of his close associates.
Under Observation for Minor Injuries
The sports star had been under observation while recuperating from non-critical injuries, his management team confirmed on Monday. The commissioner for information and strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, announced via a post on social media that Joshua was deemed clinically fit to continue his recovery at home.
“The boxer and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to pay their final respects to his two deceased friends as they were being prepared for repatriation,” Omotosho said.
Honoring the Deceased
The victims of the crash were confirmed to be Latif Ayodele, a fitness coach, and Sina Ghami, a strength and conditioning coach. Omotoso added that the champion was filled with sorrow and overcome with emotion over the passing of his two trusted companions.”
His release from the hospital comes as the global fight fans shared its support for the fighter in the following the heartbreaking incident.
