FC Barcelona Set to Play Inaugural Game at Renovated Camp Nou over the weekend
Barcelona have announced their first game will take place at the renovated but unfinished Camp Nou over the weekend. The club will host Athletic Bilbao in La Liga two and a half years after they moved out for construction to commence.
“Returning home was our dream. Finally, it’s happening. We are back at Spotify Camp Nou.”
Not all seats will be available though over 45,000 attendees will be allowed to watch as per the current authorization. When completed, the Camp Nou is due to hold almost 105,000 spectators, increasing from the former 99,000. Barça announced completed upgrades featured a renovated tunnel for players along with upgraded changing facilities.
Recent Activities
Barcelona held an open training session on the home pitch in early November. Officials stated approval is being pursued from Uefa for their upcoming Champions League fixture facing Eintracht in December in the renovated venue. Their recent games have been held at the Olympic Stadium.
