Two Men Face Charges Regarding Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Incident
Two individuals are now facing charges following a suitcase robbery where a believed to be irritant spray led to people being hurt at London's Heathrow Airport.
Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, have both been charged with two robbery charges and charges for deploying a toxic agent, as confirmed by court officials.
The charges follow an investigation into an assault at the parking structure at Terminal 3 on the weekend. Earlier that day, two women were robbed of their luggage taken after exiting a car park lift, authorities reported.
A toddler was one of the people hurt during the incident. Several persons went to hospital for treatment and were subsequently released.
This event – which authorities stated was isolated and not considered a terror-related act – caused disruptions to rail services and the temporary blocking of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a limited duration.
